My pregnancy beefs and how to do a nursery on a budget

I must say that being pregnant for the 2nd time around is so different from my 1st pregnancy.  With the 1st I gained 100lbs (yes that's not a typo) but didn't not feel as crappy as I do with this one where I've only gained about 35lbs.  I'm at 32 weeks and already at the point where I can't take it any more.  Here are my current beefs:

1) My stomach is stretched out and I've dropped.  This means that my skin is paper thin and very sensitive.  DON'T TOUCH MY BELLY!!!

2) Yes I've dropped super early.  It's my 2nd.  Yes it's making me look super fat and I'm retaining a lot of water.  I own a mirror and don't need you to tell me how fat I look.  I am well aware.

Ok, enough with the ranting.  On to more positive things...I have finished my nursery and absolutely love it.

Thoughts? I learned my lesson after baby #1 that bright colours are cute but I'm the one who has to sit in the room.  Sometimes bright colours can be a bit much especially when you are running on no sleep at 3am and the baby won't stop crying.

What I'm most proud of is that I was able to do this entire nursery for under $700.  Here's the breakdown:

-furniture $480
-crib bedding $50
-decor (paint $30, tree decal $25, curtains $65 including pole, pillow $20, wallart $20)

So here are my tips on how to get a great looking nursery on a budget

-paint is cheap and makes a great statement. Start there
-don't spend a lot on crib bedding.  It gets pee'd on, barfed on and constantly washed.  Target has great bedding for cheap.  Just find coordinating pieces and get the look for much less
-don't buy artwork.  I used frames from Ikea and made my own artwork.  Can also be easily changed later if you change your colour scheme
-baby clothes don't hang as nice as they fold.  Store your baby clothes in the dresser and use your closet to hide toys, extra boxes of diapers, gifts that you can't return and need to keep in case the person who gave it to you ever comes over.  Best thing is, you close the doors and the clutter is gone

8ish weeks left.  Could I be any more anxious :)
